A nice mix of enhancements in the WP Symposium Pro 16.03 release including distance in the directory, forum features, and quite a lot more!
Best wishes, drink tea, tea is good.
Core WP Symposium Pro plugin
New option “allow_close” for [wps-forum-comment] to set if users can close their own posts.
New option “show_as_dropdown” for [wps-forums] to show quick jump dropdown list, can be modified via WPS Pro->Shortcodes->Forums.
New shortcode [wps-no-user-check] to show user not found message, only if user is not valid.
Added Friend Requests Label as option to [wps-activity-page].
New shortcode [wps-user-exists-content]CONTENT[/wps-user-exists-content] where CONTENT will only be shown if a valid user can be found. This is very useful to tidy up pages, such as the profile page, where you want to only show content, messages or other shortcode output when a valid user exists.
Remove all friends now optional and text can be changed via WPS Pro->Shortcodes->Friends. Little tip: if you want to show this on Friends page, but have [wps-friends] on a widget and you don’t want the link to show there, remember that you can hide link in widget shortcode with remove_all_friends=”0″.
wps_submit class removed, all WPS buttons use wps_button class, can be changed via WPS Pro->Setup->Custom CSS.
WP Symposium Pro Extensions
Can now optionally show distance between users, search by distance and set directory to sort by distance (see WPS Pro->Shortcodes->Directory). For distance to work with a user, it requires that user to have saved their profile via Edit Profile with their Town/City and Country, or whatever you may have labelled those fields with (needs 16.03 installed).
Option to “Remember me” when logging in (change label via WPS Pro->Shortcodes)
Improved visibility options in setup (moved into Extension Details), and removed “Admin only” and “Always show” options as no longer required.
When creating group pages via WPS Pro->Setup, group members page now also created.
Optionally add an option to activity posts for sending to a site administrator (can set username).
wps_submit class removed, all WPS buttons use wps_button class, can be changed via WPS Pro->Setup->Custom CSS
