Development Build 16.07.h

In Brief…

Improved use of “New!” posts, replies and comments. From 16.07 you set how long new forum content is marked as “new!” (for example 2 days since last login), and if unmarked as new if the content is read. This separates the use of “New!” and unread content.

Improved Alerts (for those that failed to send and invalid forum subscriptions), extra option for [wps-mail-to-user] to set recipient and fix to the Login/Redirect for SSL sites.

Remember, if you use a CDN (like CloudFlare), caching, etc – purge/clear everything after updating.

Here’s what is planned for the next release:

New replies and comments are now taken into account for forum “NEW” highlights.

Content is now considered new if added in a time limit (seconds) set in WPS Pro->Shortcodes->Forums->[wps-forums]->”How long content stays “new” for”. Note this is now related to when a user last logged in. For info, 259200 seconds equates to 3 days. It is recommended to check the option below that removes the “new” status when an item is read (“Mark read items as no longer new”)

New option for [wps-forum] “topic_action”. Can direct viewers of a topic to first or last page (see WPS Pro->Shortcodes->Forums->[wps-forum]->”For both styles…”).

[wps-forum-comment] renamed as [wps-forum-reply] so more accurate, both still work.

New setup option (WPS Pro->Setup->Forum) to limit the length of URLs for links to individual forum posts.

Set “read” text of link to forum post for [wps-forum-show-posts] via WPS Pro->Shortcodes->Forums->[wps-forum-show-posts].

New setup option to retry failed sent alerts (keep an eye on the Alerts), should not be necessary to set this.

Improved failed messages and shows if re-trying.

Marked as compatible with WordPress v4.5.3.

Private Messages

Can set recipient via user_id as option for [wps-mail-to-user], and via WPS Pro->Shortcodes.

Forum Subscriptions

New option on Setup and Alerts screen to remove invalid subscriptions (probably due to deleted user).

Fix for SSL sites.

Marked as compatible with WordPress v4.5.3.
